"The “Light Wind Kite” service is aimed at beginners or those in the know wishing for a discovery or initiation in gentle conditions. It is also beneficial, even essential, for seasoned riders who wish to perfect their piloting to gain ease and evolve on others supports (board)."

And after ?

The “Light Wind Kite” session allows you to:

  • Continue with a “Kite foil” course to get started and progress on this new support which will allow you to fly above the water. You can also have your driving level confirmed by one of our instructors to fully benefit from this service.
  • Continue on a “Strapless Kite” course to introduce yourself and progress on these new supports which will allow you to navigate the waves (surfkite), access a low navigation beach (Tiki) or enjoy a “freeride surf” ride with our hybrid surfing.

FAQs

This session theme is not the easiest, but it allows you to build benchmarks that are “impalpable” in strong winds. This session can be frustrating for those wanting to sail in strong winds or those looking for thrills. If this is your case, pass your turn and make way for another person who will be happy to perfect their “driving fineness”.

Here, we will seek to understand how the kite works and to use piloting techniques specific to underpowered navigation. More technical, safer, less sporty, it is also a good way to approach a first kite session. We highly recommend signing up for a second in heavier wind so you can experience the traction sensations that make most people
addicted.

The objective is to work on underpower and put aside overpower which is often appreciated by many kiters for its fast and… exhausting gliding sensations. Yes ! Once you have perfected your flying finesse, you will have perfected your skills.

If you have the same chair as Néo at home, yes (bring it to school). Otherwise no. Piloting finesse is a long-term task. It requires regular practice in light winds. To paraphrase Morpheus (Matrix): “I can only show you the door, you are the one who have to walk through it”.

The doors that these skills will open to you are very numerous. Practicing under power allows you to save energy during your long navigations, to increase your range of use of all your supports (twin tip, surf and foil) and therefore to sail more often. Also, be more comfortable on a surf kite (kite with a surf) and have the appropriate piloting in the other environments that the kite activity offers! Dirt and snow require underpowered steering.
